Centrale Paris at the Heart of the G20

As part of the 50th anniversary of the OECD — whose headquarters are in Paris — and of the French presidency of the G20, the two organizations have decided to organize a joint program to invite French Grandes Ecoles and universities to participate in a major reflection on G20 issues, and more specifically: macroeconomic policy, public finance reorganization and major state arbitration, financial transparency, the fight against corruption, employment and social welfare, trade and investment, commodity price volatility, agricultural raw material prices, social development indicators, and sources of growth.

High Performance Computing Day at Centrale Paris

A New Director to Head the LGPM Laboratory

Patrick Perré (52 years old) has been named the new director of the Process and Materials Engineering Laboratory. He was previously ingénieur en chef des Ponts, des Eaux et des Forêts. Upon completing his training at the École Polytechnique, and then at the École du Génie Rural, des Eaux et des Forêts, he obtained a PhD in physics at the University of Paris Diderot in 1987, and then completed his HDR in mechanics/energetics at the Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine in 1992.

Sébastien Candel at the Academy of Sciences

Sébastien Candel has been elected to the French Academy of Sciences (he had been a correspondent since 1994). A professor at the Ecole Centrale Paris, Candel conducts his research at the Energy, Molecular and Macroscopic, Combustions Laboratory (EM2C), a CNRS lab (UPR 288).

On April 5, Centrale Paris hosted 7 students and two accompanying adults from French lycées in the United States (New York, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Rochambeau in Washington D.C., Miami Broward and La Pérouse).
