Gilles Bailet, PhD student in the Nonequilibrium Plasma group at CentraleSupelec, in collaboration with the von Karman Institute, and supported by Airbus Defence & Space, received the first prize for Outstanding Student Oral presentation at the 13th International Planetary Probe Workshop in Laurel, Maryland...  

Gilles Bailet , PhD student in the Nonequilibrium Plasma group at CentraleSupelec, in collaboration with the von Karman Institute, and supported by Airbus Defence & Space, received the first prize for Outstanding Student Oral presentation at the 13th International Planetary Probe Workshop in Laurel, Maryland.

His talk was entitled « New method of predicting reentry radiation on the presence of a non-conventional / non-characterized thermal protection system material. »

The IPPW-13 International Organizing Committee bestows this award in support of the exploration of the Solar systems atmospheres and surfaces using atmospheric entry descend and landing probes, aerial vehicles, landers, rovers and penetrators.
